STMicroelectronics Dual-Channel Digital Signal Isolator Improves Circuit Configuration FlexibilityOn February 1st, STMicroelectronics expanded its family of dual-channel high-speed digital signal isolators, bringing more flexibility to designers to optimize circuit board layout.
The new STISO620 has two co-directional channels with all digital inputs on one side of the isolation barrier and all digital outputs on the other side. In addition to the forward dual channel STISO620, ST's digital isolator lineup also includes the reverse dual channel (one channel in each direction) STISO621 and STISO621W. Many applications require the isolation of two digital signals and the transmission of signals across the isolation barrier in a flexible and selectable direction. This product family provides a convenient solution for such applications.
advertise The entire series of isolators is based on STMicroelectronics' 6kV thick oxide technology, which ensures the robustness of the galvanic isolation and keeps the galvanic isolation performance unaffected in the event of system faults and device aging, thereby improving the reliability of industrial and consumer applications. Target applications include smart grid equipment, utility meters, motor drives, smart building and lighting systems, home appliances, as well as power supplies, inverters, fieldbus isolators and battery status monitors. These isolators can replace optocouplers in any application, ensuring excellent long-term performance for the application.
Equipped with two Schmitt trigger inputs, the STISO620 offers excellent noise immunity, switching speeds up to 100Mbit/s, and pulse width distortion of less than 3ns. STISO620 adopts SO8N narrow body package, the creepage distance and clearance value are 4mm, the peak pulse withstand voltage (VIOTM) is 4000V, the isolation voltage (VISO) is 2830Vrms, and the maximum operating isolation voltage (VIOWM) is 849Vrms. The key parameters of isolation are tested in accordance with VDE0884-10 and UL 1577 safety standards, and the whole series of products have passed UL 1577 certification.
The STISO620, STISO621, and STISO621W are available in SO8W wide-body packages and are in production now. |
